Match Results
Nia Jax / Tiffany Stratton Promo
An in-ring coronation of Jax as the WWE Women’s Champion was a sight to behold. In all pink Stratton laced Jax with accolades and she was serenaded by Pretty Deadly. It was as ridiculous as it sounds. The important takeaways? Jax demanded Stratton bow down, fueling what will inevitably be a reason for division between the two and Stratton’s eventual cashing in of the Money in the Bank briefcase. Second, Michin stormed in the ring to (thankfully) interrupt Pretty Deadly the Musical with the kendo stick, identifying she’s going to be next up as a foil for Jax.
Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes
After Hayes interfered in the US Championship No. 1 contender match etween Andrade and Santos Escobar, the rivalry that will never end is back on for another matchup. Springboard clothesline from Hayes was impressive, as was Andrade’s second-turnbuckle moonsault down to the floor that cleared. Hayes was able to knock Andrade off the top turnbuckle, crashing down to the floor. After a commercial break, Hayes tried to drop Andrade from the top rope, but the latter pulled off a Spanish Fly. Hayes caught Andrade with a Superkick and then was able to pull off three Cutters, but was unable to get the pin. A super spinning back elbow had a ridiculously loud smack, but Hayes kicked out yet again. Andrade tried his moonsault from the top rope and Hayes flipped out of a hold and was able to finally get his first pin of Andrade.
Hayes wins by pinfall.
Solo Sikoa Tama Tonga Promo
Sikoa lets it be known that if Roman defeats him and takes the Ula Fala, then the Bloodline needs to fall in line and he will too. Uh huh. Ok.
Naomi vs Blair Davenport
The two tangled last week when Davenport stuck her nose in the business of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair once again as Davenport joined Isla Dawn as they jumped in after Alba Fyre was defeated soundly by Cargill. Two weeks prior Davenport interfered to keep Cargill and Belair from getting their tag titles back so now these two go head-to-head in singles competition. As for the match, it was pretty choppy action as it lived up to it’s filler role.
Davenport wins by pinfall.
Afa Anoa’i Tribute
The great Samoan icon and one-half of Hall of Fame tag-team The Wild Samoans passed away earlier on Friday.
Kevin Owens vs Grayson Waller
The match was preceded by Waller and Austin Theory trash talking Owens only for him to appear behind them. Owens agreed that he shouldn’t get the title shot, he was an easy win and that they should go to the ring so Waller could prove it. In-ring, the usual Owens starting fire eventually spilled out the ring for shenanigans. Waller went between the legs for an elbow from the top rope, then tried a suplex from up there and Owens stopped him to deliver four headbutts and a Swanton Bomb. Owens then caught him with a Stunner and then a crucial PowerBomb for the win.
After the win, Owens re-initiated the attack, but things quickly changed and Owens was about to be on the receiving end of two steel chairs when Cody Rhodes raced to the ring to support Owens the same way Owens has done for him for months. Rhodes went to pick up his belt but Owens snatched it up before handing it to Owens and walking out. Rhodes stared longingly, knowing (in his subconscious we’re sure) that his friendship is going down the drain.
Owens wins by pinfall.
Santos Escobar promo
Their going to lean into this Es-co-bar-Si! LA Knight ripoff and not just let it be a one-week thing. They’ll meet next week.
LA Knight promo
Knight once again proves to be the best mic in the WWE, clowning Escobar for biting his style and then with a couple laugh-worthy jokes at his opponent’s expense.
Street Profits vs #DIY
A matchup between a team with little charisma and a team with a lot more, but both being great actual wrestlers. Somehow, #DIY have been getting a ton of championship opportunities but Street Profits The match started with a good display of prowess between Montez Ford and Johnny Gargano before partner swaps. Assisted moonsalt, double flap jack. After a commercial, Gargano hit a sweet bulldog and clothesline combo to take out both Profits. Champa avoided Dawkins from the top rope and hit a mean knee to the face. Stereo suicide dives was a great look but took a little to long to coordinate between Gargano and Ford. A Zig-Zag by Ford on Champa was crucial and led to a 450 but Champa got his knees up to stop it. Somehow Dawkins survived a Superkick upside down and a Fairy Tell Ending. SuperBlockbuster for the win and Street Profits gets a shot at their first tag titles since 2020.
Street Profits win by pinfall.
Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns promo
Crowds still can’t get the OTC chant coordinated, but they keep trying. They’ll get it one day. “If you want this Ula Fala back, then bring your a– out here and come and take it from me.” Cue the music! Roman Reigns appears to an arena full of fingers in the air. Reigns worked Sikoa and Tonga and temporarily regained the Ula Fala, only for a one-footed (supposedly) Jacob Fatu raced to the ring to reign destruction. Reigns takes his first beatdown in the feud.
