Olympic gymnastics live results, updates, highlights from 2024 women’s floor and beam finals

One more day, two more events, until the 2024 Olympic artistic gymnastics women’s competition is over. Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Jordan Chiles will compete in their final routines of the Games as they go for one more gold in the floor and beam finals.

Biles and Lee will compete alongside each other in beam finals for what could be the last time of their careers. The two competed and medaled in the all-around finals just days ago. Monday is expected to be a repeat of that as the two are favorites to podium on the beam.

It will be close as Lee qualified fourth behind Rebeca Andrade and Biles second behind Zhou Yaqin. Then again, only the Americans are bronze medalists on the event.

Closing out the competition is floor, where Biles will fly high as she goes for her second gold on the event. She’ll compete alongside Chiles, who qualified for the event thanks to her show-stopping, Beyoncé-inspired routine. It will be Chiles first individual competition in her Olympic career, but she’s set to make a run for the podium after qualifying third.

While no gymnast has announced their future gymnastics plans, the floor and beam finals could be the final time Biles, Lee, and Chiles perform at the Olympic Games. So, take it all in as the trio completes its Paris redemption tour with what’s hopefully a historic finish at Bercy Arena.

Olympics gymnastics live results, highlights from women’s floor and beam finals

7:28 a.m. – Now, the women will take a break until the floor final as the men go up on horizontal bar for their final event of the Games.

7:25 a.m. – All the emotions for D’Amato! She earns Italy it’s first ever gold medal in women’s gymnastics. Her teammate, Esposito, takes one home, too, finishing with a bronze medal. Zhou grabs the silver.

7:23 a.m. – A hit performance from Andrade to close us out! She not only stays on the apparatus but executes it well, encountering the smallest of balance checks. But it’s still not enough as she earns a 13.933 and finishes fourth.

Despite what seemed like an excellent routine, Andrade’s difficulty was down 0.4 from qualifying and wasn’t enough to overcome in execution.

7:20 a.m. – Us too, Kathy.

7:15 a.m. – Biles brings back the beam curse. She’s off on her second layout stepout, taking a few steps back before jumping off the beam rather than going for the third layout. She scores a 13.100 and will not medal on the beam. Zhou is now guaranteed to podium.

7:11 a.m. – D’Amato breaks the curse! The Italian puts up a solid routine. She has a few balance checks here and there but no major breaks, and ends with a near-stick on her dismount. She scores a 14.366, guaranteeing D’Amato’s first individual medal in her Olympic career.

7:04 a.m. – Falls for Maneca-Voinea. She takes two tumbles, her hips slightly off on the layout full, then another misstep on the aerial. She scores an 11.733.

7:00 a.m. – Gymnast No. 4, major error count No. 4. Esposito continues the curse, breaking ever so slightly on her aerial. It could have been worse, though, as she stays on the beam, continues strong and sticks the double pike dismount. She records a 14.000.

6:55 a.m. – Another fall! Soares takes a tumble, too, grabbing the beam before officially falling on the tour jete. The beam curse continues. The Brazilian earns a 12.333.

6:50 a.m. – Not the showing Lee wanted. She’s off from the get-go on her acro series, coming down on the second layout stepout, her back foot just ever so slightly slipping to the side and off. The 2021 bronze medalist will not podium again on beam as she earns a 13.100.

Still, it’s all smiles for the American as her Olympic career potentially closes out.

6:46 a.m. – An unusual, and massively unfortunate, error for Zhou as she’s off balance on her straight jump full and reaches down to touch the beam. It’s going to come down for the wire for the reigning World silver medalist on beam. She records a 14.100, which could still be enough for the Chinese specialist.

6:38 a.m. – Here’s the order of athletes on beam.

  • Zhou Yaqin (China)
  • Suni Lee (USA)
  • Julia Soares (Brazil)
  • Manila Esposito (Italy)
  • Sabrina Maneca-Voinea (Romania)
  • Alice D’Amato (Italy)
  • Simone Biles (USA)
  • Rebeca Andrade (Brazil)

6:36 a.m. – The final leo check for Suni of Paris. Who’s cutting onions here?
