Former Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is pushing for a return to the Premier League this summer, with his current club Besiktas looking to facilitate his departure.
Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to the Turkish side on a free transfer last year after his contract with Liverpool ended.
The 30-year-old played 30 times across all competitions for Besiktas, scoring four goals.
Despite helping the team secure the Turkish Cup, Besiktas finished sixth in the league and were knocked out in the group stages of the Europa Conference League.

Clubs interested in former Liverpool midfielder
According to The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal, Besiktas and Oxlade-Chamberlain are working together to find options for his return to the Premier League.
“Besiktas and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are reviewing options for the former Liverpool midfielder to move back to the Premier League,” Leventhal reported. “The Turkish club are open to a sale as they restructure their squad and cut their wage bill. All parties are aiming to find an amicable solution and allow him to return to the UK.”
A number of Premier League clubs, particularly those at the lower end of the table, are likely to be interested in Oxlade-Chamberlain.
His fitness has improved, allowing him to make his most appearances in a season for four years. Last summer, Brentford and Sheffield United showed interest, and it’s unclear if they will pursue him again.
Given his experience and versatility, Oxlade-Chamberlain could be a valuable addition to many squads. He has played in various positions, including right wing-back, central midfield, attacking midfield, and on either wing.
A potential return to Southampton, his boyhood club, could also be on the cards, offering a nostalgic homecoming.
Signed by Liverpool for £35 million ($44.6m) in 2017, Oxlade-Chamberlain made 146 appearances, scored 18 goals, and provided 15 assists. He was part of the squad that won the Premier League in the 2019/20 season, as well as the Club World Cup, Champions League, and both domestic cups.
His return to England could bring valuable experience and depth to any Premier League team looking to bolster their squad.
